| 001 | 我兒，你若為朋友作保，替外人擊掌， | My son, if you be guarantor for your friend, if you have stricken your hand with a stranger, | My son, if thou be surety for thy friend, if thou hast stricken thy hand with a stranger, |
| 002 | 你就被口中的話語纏住，被嘴裡的言語捉住。 | You are snared with the words of your mouth, you are taken with the words of your mouth. | Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth. |
| 003 | 我兒，你既落在朋友手中，就當這樣行才可救自己：你要自卑，去懇求你的朋友。 | Do this now, my son, and deliver yourself, when you are come into the hand of your friend; go, humble yourself, and make sure your friend. | Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend. |
